BIDDING PROCEDURES
-Bidders will be assigned a number to remain anonymous.
-All lots will be sold to the highest bidder. The bidder is responsible for any errors in bidding.
–The highest bidder takes the lot at one advance over the next highest bid, as hammered down by the auctioneer.
-A volunteer serves as agent bidder for all absentee bids. Absentee bids are not revealed to anyone, except in the bidding process. The volunteer does not know who the absentee bidder is, only the assigned bidder’s number.
– If an absentee bid is the only bid received for a lot and it is more than the starting bid, the lot shall be sold to the absentee bidder at the starting bid.
-Unspecified amount “buy bids” will not be accepted.
-Lots failing to receive a bid will be withdrawn for future disposal/auction.
** NO BUYERS PREMIUM WILL BE CHARGED **
There are four ways to submit bids.
- Drop off a completed bid sheet at the APRL or the RMPL.
- Bid by email at BookAuctionManager@gmail.com
- Bid online using the Online Bid Sheet to place your bids.
- Bid by mail. Send bid sheet to: APRL/RMPL Book Auction, c/o Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library, 2038 S. Pontiac Way, Denver, CO 80224. Please put “Attention Book Auction Manager” on the front of the envelope.
PAYMENT
- Payment may be made by cash, check, Visa, or Master Card.
- ALL bidders, whether successful or not, will be notified (by phone or email) by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday following the conclusion of the auction.
- Payment is expected when the lot(s) are picked up, or within 2 weeks of notification for absentee bidders.
- Colorado residents will be charged 4.25% sales tax.
- Pennsylvania residents will be charged xx.xx% sales tax.
- Shipping will be via the U.S.P.S. Library mail at a cost to be determined.
- If a winning absentee bidder wishes to have a purchase insured, we must be notified of this. The bidder will incur the cost.
FINAL NOTES
All images are scanned on a high quality scanner. Please note that there may be slight differences in the color resolution between monitors.
